Welcome to Machakos University, the only public university within Machakos County. The University is located in the most serene environment with a population of 13,000 students and 456 staff members. The University endeavors to soar to great heights in transforming industry and the Kenyan economy and values all its stakeholders in the support of this aspirational vision.

Under the able leadership of our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joyce Agalo, we have set high targets with the goal of positioning Machakos University as a world-class centre of excellence in service delivery. The building blocks towards excellence are partly contributed by the Administration, Planning and Finance (APF) Division in which I am privileged to serve as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

The departments advancing the mandate of the APF Division are those of, the Administration and Planning Department, and the Finance Department. The Administration and Planning Department deals managing the day-to-day operations of the University including those of recruitment processes, training and development, appraising staff performance, as well as welfare.

The Finance Department on the other hand deals with all matters pertaining to finance and constantly advises the University Management on financial matters including disbursement of funds to other departments, all forms of payments, and tracking of debtors and creditors.

Additionally, the APF Division oversees Performance Contracting and the ISO quality assurance which are key pillars in the actualization of the Division’s Vision and Mission. The Division also supervises the Human Resource section which deals with staff matters, as well as the Transport section that deals with the management and maintenance of its fleet of vehicles.
