Professor (CPA) Florence S. Memba is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) Administration, Finance & Planning at Machakos University. With experience as an Associate Professor and Entrepreneurship expert, she has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and consultancy in the field of entrepreneurship and Finance. She has held esteemed positions such as Head of Department of Business Administration and thereafter Dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Jomo Kenyatta University of agriculture with over 10,000 students. She was the dean for six years continuously.

She taught and supervised many students for degree programs, Masters and Ph. D. degree students.  She has authored Books and published many peer-reviewed papers in refereed Journals in her area of Entrepreneurship and Finance. She was team leader in many University sub-committees for curriculum development and review.  She reviews papers for KIPPRA among others.  She was appointed many times to review the B.Sc. Entrepreneurship program for new Universities  by Commission for higher Education. She is trained and certified by ILO as expert on the special program of SIYB –“start and improve your business”.  She attracted a substantial amount of funds for research through proposal writing and collaboration with Universities such as  Technical University of Munich (Germany) and Buffalo University (USA). The funds were used by the University to sponsor Ph.D. and Master degree students.

Apart from being a member of ICPAK of good standing, she is also a member of the association of women accountants of Kenya (AWAK), Association of professional practicing entrepreneurs of Kenya (APEK) and Doctoral Association of East Africa ((DAEA).
